Avid Armor Jar Attachment Hood | Mason & Ball Jar Vacuum Sealer

I picked this up to use with my vacuum sealer, mainly for storing things like fruits, vegetables and tomato sauce in Mason jars. Setup was pretty simple — just connect the hood and hose, and it pulled a nice tight seal. So far, it’s been working as expected and keeping my jars airtight.

The quality feels decent, not super heavy-duty but good enough for regular kitchen use. Cleaning was easy, just a quick wash with mild soap. One thing I’d suggest before buying is to double-check that your vacuum sealer has the accessory/canister function — mine did, and I had no issues getting it to work.

Overall, it does the job and makes food storage more convenient. For now, I’m happy with it and would recommend it to anyone with a compatible sealer.

I have an Avid Armor food sealer, so I thought this attachment would be perfect, as it's made for the brand. Maybe it's just me, but I have a really hard time getting it to work. It does work, but should it be so hit and miss? I had the best luck actually turning the jar upside down in my hand before I had my first success with it. It does work with two sizes of jars, and when I finally got it to work, the seal was fantastic. I can open it with my fingers, so it isn't super tight, but good enough for food preservation.
If it turns out that there's a trick to this where I can have good seals more frequently, I'll bump it up to 5 stars.

Worked great and was easy to use.

This product works good! The hose that came with it wasnt compatible with my Avid Armor ES41 vaccum chamber, but the original hose that came with my unit worked. Note: my unit doesn’t have a canner button, so I just do it until the pressure needle stops plus +3-4 seconds and it creates a strong seal. As the instructions state, it is not meant for long term sterilized food container purposes, but allows for longer shelf life between uses of the product contained within the jar. It works intuitively right out of the box and I use it for things like homemade salad dressings or leftover soups that I plan to use within the next week or so, refrigerated of course.

Using this on an Avid Armor USV32. Accessory plugs in easily and seals a jar fast. Remember to only pull a vacuum for 5 seconds, then hit the CANCEL button to stop.

Quality of this product is awesome, easy to operate and my wife and i have used it quite a bit since our purchase. Its well worth the money

These work well and I'm glad and what is especially nice is that one hood works for regular and wide mouth jars. Very easy to use and more compact than other attachment hoods.

For those who say this doesn't work - it's MADE BY AND FOR AVID ARMOR vacuum sealer machine! It may fit some others, but when I saw the name Avid Armor, I grabbed it because I am absolutely SOLD on my "larger than life" stainless steel workhorse of a vacuum sealer. It truly is one of the best machines out there and if you are into more bulk buying to save on food costs, then divving it up for more manageable meal portions, this machine is the best to get. Now, for this vacuum sealer for jars - this works like a DREAM! I do have a regular sealer - the kind that you put on top of the jar and press a button and then wait for it to beep and yes, it works, but I really trust and love using my Avid Armor sealer. This works perfectly and when I buy a #10 can of freeze-dried beef crumbles, after opening it for a first use, I will take some Mason jars, fill them with beef crumbles, throw in a couple of those little dry packs, then use this and my Avid Armor sealer to vacuum seal the jars. I mark the sealed cap of the jars with the date so I can keep track and use them before any possibility they could go bad. I like being able to vacuum seal the Mason jars as they fit easily on my pantry shelves - more so than those #10 cans do. I could not be happier with this vacuum sealer that works so well with my machine.

This vacuum sealing hood works really well. I tested it on a Ball jar using my vacuum sealer's accessory port, and the process was quick and easy. The seal it created was very strong and held perfectly. This is a great, simple tool for keeping food fresh in Mason jars. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.

Very happy with this! I've used it every single day since I got it and it works like a champ. I've moved some of my dry goods and snacks to mason jars and this attachment makes sure they stay super fresh right to the end.

Slips over the lid (don't use the ring) and provides a very snug seal when the vacuum is applied. You will need to exercise some caution when removing the sleeve so that you don't accidentally release the seal.

This makes the seal on my mason jars so tight that I cannot remove them with bare hands alone. I need to pry them with some sort of tool to break the vacuum seal.

Overall, I am really happy and find myself reaching for this device quite frequently.

I have been using the jar sealers that are rechargeable with a usb cable. They work fine but they take some time to complete the vacuum. And if you have several jars to seal the unit stops because it needs recharging.

This jar vacuum system is so fast that you will be done with that chore in no time at all. And you can use this hood on both regular and wide mouth jars.

Didnt know what I was missing till I got this. The chamber is hands down the only way to go now
