Avid Armor JARMAX Chamber Vacuum Sealer

The JARMAX is a full size chamber vacuum sealer with a chamber deep enough to stand mason jars upright. It vacuum seals six pint jars or four quart jars in a single cycle, using the jars' own two-piece lids, with no hose and no attachment. It also seals chamber pouches and Mylar up to 7 mil, handles liquids, and runs a one button marinate cycle. It is not a canner. New to it? See how the JARMAX works and which jars fit.

The Only Machine We Designed for Jars

Every other chamber sealer in the line is designed around pouches, with jars as something they can also do. The JARMAX is the reverse. Its chamber measures 8.5 inches of interior depth, roughly two and a half times deeper inside than any other chamber in our line, which is what lets four quart jars or six pint jars stand upright in one cycle, or six or more half pints stacked on the included stainless wire shelf. A shelf of freeze-dried stock or a season of harvest goes through in batches instead of one jar at a time.

Six Jars a Cycle, Not One at a Time

A jar sealer that runs off a hose attachment evacuates a single jar, then you break the seal, move the hose, and do it again. Inside a chamber every jar is evacuated on the same cycle, using nothing but its own two-piece lid. Load the chamber, close the lid, and the batch finishes together under a flat tempered glass lid you can watch it through. Regular and wide mouth jars both work, and no special attachment is needed for any of them.

Which Jars Fit

Jar About how tall Per cycle
Half pint (8 oz) 3.9 in 6 or more, stacked with the wire shelf
Pint (16 oz) 5.2 in 6, standing upright
Pint and a half (24 oz) 6.8 in Several, standing upright
Quart (32 oz) 6.9 in 4, standing upright
Half gallon (64 oz) 9.1 in Too tall for the chamber. Use the included accessory hose with a jar attachment hood.

Heights are regular mouth and approximate. Wide mouth jars of the same volume are shorter, so they fit too.

Why upright matters. In a shallow chamber, a jar that cannot stand gets laid on its side, and that is how jars break. A verified buyer of our USV32 wrote: “Even though you can sit a jar (on its side) to seal dry goods, I’ve already exploded two jars.” In the JARMAX, jars stand on their own base. Check each jar for chips and cracks first, and leave the rings loose.

JARMAX or the USV32? They are about the same price. The USV32 is pouches first, with an 11.5 inch seal bar and pouches up to 11 by 13 inches. The JARMAX is jars first. Pick by the job.

How to Seal Jars in the JARMAX

  1. Fill the jars, wipe the rims, and put the lids and rings on. Leave the rings loose so the air can escape.
  2. Stand the jars in the chamber and close the glass lid.
  3. Set vacuum time to 25 seconds and press Vac and Seal. Tighten the rings when the cycle is done.

The full walk through, with the hose and handheld methods for comparison, is in how to vacuum seal mason jars, step by step.

It Still Seals Pouches

The twin-wire seal bar measures 10.5 inches. It seals the common chamber pouch sizes, including 6" x 10", 8" x 10", 8" x 12", 10" x 10" and 10" x 13", and it is rated for heavy Mylar up to 7 mil, so long-term storage pouches seal at the same setting as everyday food. A pouch clamp holds the bag in place and two filler plates raise shorter pouches to the bar. The 30 pouches in the box are 11" x 10" outside with a 10.5 inch opening, sized to the full width of the wire.

Liquids Go In, Spills Come Out

Because a chamber equalizes pressure around the jar instead of pulling air through the opening, bone broth, brine, soup and sauce stay where you put them at full vacuum. They are still perishable, so they go in the refrigerator or freezer once sealed. The removable silicone chamber liner is the part that makes that practical day to day: it has handles and a pour spout, so a spill inside the chamber gets lifted out and poured off rather than wiped out of the corners of the machine.

Sealing Jars Is Not Canning

The JARMAX vacuum-seals jars. It does not replace pressure canning, water-bath canning or heat pasteurization, and those are what make fresh vegetables, tomato sauce and other perishable foods safe to keep at room temperature. Use it for dry goods, freeze-dried and dehydrated stores, and for extending refrigerated and frozen life, and follow tested canning procedures for anything meant to be shelf-stable.

What to Seal, and Where It Goes

  • Pantry shelf: freeze-dried and dehydrated foods, dried beans, rice, grains, flour, pasta, coffee, and spices.
  • Refrigerator or freezer: bone broth, soup, sauce, brine, marinated cuts, meat and fish in pouches, and leftovers. They seal cleanly, and they are still perishable.
  • Not this machine's job: making vegetables, tomato sauce, soup, or meat shelf stable. That takes canning. See canning versus vacuum sealing mason jars.

Real Timed Control, Not Presets

Vacuum time adjusts from 25 to 99 seconds and seal time from 3 to 9. That is true timed control, and only three machines in the line offer it: this one, the USV20 and the USV32. Every other model runs fixed presets. Jars, dense wet foods and heavy storage pouches each want a different pull, and a timed dial lets you set it and repeat the same cycle exactly rather than accepting whatever a preset decides.

Marinate Mode Runs the Cycle for You

A dedicated marinate setting pulses vacuum and release automatically, working brine into meat in minutes rather than overnight. It runs on an open dish set directly in the chamber, so there is no pouch to fill, and it works the same way for craft infusions and flavored syrups.

No Oil, No Service Schedule

The JARMAX runs a dry, oil-free pump. Dry means there is no oil to buy, no reservoir to check, and no conditioning cycle to run before or after a session, which is why these machines keep sealing for years on nothing but occasional cleaning. What does eventually wear is the seal bar and the lid gasket, and a replacement for each one ships in the box. Years from now when a part needs swapping, it is already on your shelf. No part number to hunt down, no waiting on a shipment, no downtime in the middle of a season. That is how we design them.

What Owners of Our Chamber Sealers Say

The JARMAX is new, so these are verified buyers of our other chamber sealers, in their own words. Each one says which machine they own.

“I use it every week to store freeze dryer food. I have more confidence that my food investment will not spoil.”

Jennifer G., verified buyer. Owns the USV20. June 2026.

“So much more effective to seal wet and dry foods than a regular vacuum sealer. Especially good with our freeze dried foods in myler bags.”

Michael S., verified buyer. Owns the USVXL. June 2026.

Questions

Is the JARMAX a canner?
No. The JARMAX vacuum seals jars. It does not heat, cook, or sterilize food, and it does not replace a pressure canner or a water-bath canner. Dry goods can go on the pantry shelf once sealed. Anything perishable still belongs in the refrigerator or freezer.

How many mason jars fit in the JARMAX?
Six pint jars or four quart jars standing upright in one cycle, in regular or wide mouth. Half pints stack using the stainless wire shelf that comes in the box.

Do I need special lids or an attachment?
No. The JARMAX seals a jar with the jar's own standard two-piece lid. Put the lid and ring on, leave the ring loose, and run the cycle.

Is there a jars only button?
You do not need one. For jars, set vacuum time to 25 seconds and press Vac and Seal.

What is the difference between the JARMAX and the USV32?
Chamber depth. The USV32 is designed around pouches, with a chamber 3.5 inches tall. The JARMAX chamber is 8.5 inches deep, which is what lets pint and quart jars stand upright inside it.

What is the accessory hose for?
It connects the JARMAX to external vacuum canisters and to jars that are too tall for the chamber. The hose is included. Canisters are sold separately.

What are the shipping, return, and warranty terms?
Free shipping on orders over $50 in the 48 contiguous states. Returns are accepted within 30 days for a full refund, with a 15 percent restocking fee unless the unit is returned clean, like new, with all accessories in its original packaging. The one year warranty registers automatically with your purchase.
