Avid Armor Chamber Vacuum Sealers - Comparison Chart & More!

Posted by Avid Armor on Oct 4th 2022

There are so many chamber vacuum sealers on the market, it can be a difficult decision choosing which one is right for you.

While shopping online you might ask yourself . . .

What are the different types of chamber sealers? What should I look for when buying a vacuum sealer? What bag sizes do I need? What sealers use vacuum bags vs. chamber pouches? Which machines can seal mylar bags? Can mason jars fit in the chamber? How much counter space will a vacuum sealer take up? What is the advantage of a chamber vacuum sealer? Do I get an oil pump or a dry pump chamber vacuum sealer?

Well, if you ever find yourself pondering these questions, look no further. Avid Armor is here to help answer them!

Currently, Avid Armor carries six different chamber vacuum sealers. Below is a comparison chart that shows the specifications of each type of chamber vacuum sealer, as well as more in-depth information regarding each model.

Note: Chamber sealers can use both chamber pouches (smooth on both sides) and vacuum bags (embossed on one side / smooth on one side), however, chamber pouches are recommended due to them being more cost effective long term rather than vacuum bags.

If you want to vacuum seal dry goods or freeze dried food in mason jars inside the chamber, we recommend using Ball Brand Mason Jars. Ball jars have been tested with Avid Armor sealers with successful results. We cannot verify the compatibility or size of other brands of mason jars. When vacuum sealing mason jars inside the chamber, lay them horizontally NOT vertically.

After reviewing the specifications for the chamber vacuum sealers, it is important to find the chamber sealer that would best fit your needs. Unlike suction sealers, chamber sealers are ideal for vacuum sealing liquids and are great to use for cooking sous vide, marinating, infusing, pickling, and so much more!

When it comes to deciding between getting a chamber machine with a dry pump vs. an oil pump, there are a few differences to note.

Oil pumps need moderate maintenance in terms of checking the oil level before use and changing the oil if it gets cloudy or discolored overtime. Avid Armor chamber machines with oil pumps have a ‘Pump Conditioning Program’ which is a unique feature from other sealers on the market. This program only takes 10 minutes for the GS41/GS53 and 15 minutes for the ES41 to complete. Running this program prior to first use, after consistent use, and before/after storing it away for an extended period of time, will keep the pump running at peak performance.

Now that you know more about the specifications and details regarding Avid Armor chamber vacuum sealers, it is time to choose one that seems like the ideal fit for your lifestyle and kitchen needs!
